Dear Conrad -- I am saved and say if I sin and then I die before I ask God for forgiveness...will I go to hell? Or say the "rapture" happens while I sin will I go in it? -- MyK
Dear Myk,
It says in Eph. 2[8] For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- [9] not by works, so that no one can boast. [10] For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
These verses are saying that those who put their faith in Christ are saved by faith and not by works.
Christ died in our place so that there is no more judgment for us. Christ cannot pay for our sins, AND we pay for our sins too. If that were the case God would be double punishing sin and therefore that would make God unjust.
RO 8:1 “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
Ultimately we are saved because of Christ’s adherence to God’s law and not on how well we adhere to it. We simply need true faith.
