Dear Conrad - it was posed by this radiohead song that I’m always singing. A friend of mine says he thinks its like a subliminal message to myself... "you can try the best you can, you can try the best you can, the best you can is good enough." is my best really always good enough? -

Dear The Rachel,
The only thing good enough for God is perfection. The best we can do is less that perfection. So our good is not good enough.
That is why we need Christ.
If we could be good enough all by ourselves, then we wouldn't need Christ.
Some would like to believe that have it in themselves to be good. But listen what the Bible says about goodness apart from Christ...
Romans 3:10 "There is no one righteous, not even one;
RO 3:11 there is no one who understands,
no one who seeks God.
RO 3:12 All have turned away,
they have together become worthless;
there is no one who does good,
not even one."
The only good that we have is the good that Christ accomplished for us in his perfect life.
We are sinful creatures which will sin for this life. We will never stop sinning in this lifetime.
We are counted righteous before God, not because of any good we try to do, but by the good of what Christ did - when we place our Faith in Him.
