Another pop screamo band… yeah, that pretty much sums up A Change of Pace. They do have catchy melodies in their power chord filled pop punk meets metal music, but it’s nothing that hasn’t been done before. Cliché lyrics are typical on An Offer You Can't Refuse and while that doesn’t always define the music, it does a good job of doing so on this release. It’s unoriginal and plagiaristic.
The first track, “Loose Lips Sink Ships,” is probably the most interesting and enjoyable song on the album. The main reason is each song after sound like the same thing, but not as good, making the album a draining chore to listen to.
An Offer You Can't Refuse certainly isn’t the worst release of this genre this year, and in many aspects is better (the vocals don’t have the disgorging whiney sound that many pop screamo bands have), but it is indeed a boring and cliché album.
