It must be their Protestant ethic, there's no other reason TW Walsh and Dave Bazan would work so hard.
After touring almost incessantly as Pedro The Lion the pair then re-grouped to create The Headphones but it wasn't enough for either. Walsh is now leading Bazan as the creative force behind The Soft Drugs, a three piece filled out by Ken Maiuri of The Maggies (who are on an extended hiatus).
In an interview with Decapolis, Walsh said he is hopeful the debut The Soft Drugs LP will come out in early 2006."I hope the record comes out in the first half of 2006(or earlier), and I have some favorite labels I'd like to send it to, but it's too early to know what will happen," Walsh said.

While Walsh is the main creative force behind the band, Bazan and Maiuri do contribute."It's my band in the sense that I write the songs and I kind of 'produce' the arrangements. I typically do full demos of the songs and that part of the process is the same as my 'solo project' - but Dave and Ken contribute a lot, writing tons of cool parts and, occasionally, melodies and chord changes for new song sections. it's pretty ideal for me. "I can finish a song to the best of my ability, then ask for input from guys who I respect and who have lots of ideas.
Early rumours are already surfacing online that the band will release their album via Suicide Squeeze but at this stage the band are still not completely happy with the songs they've committed to tape. It's likely this will be the next album fans will see from the trio, Walsh said in an online forum The Soft Drugs album would likely take precedent over a new Pedro The Lion record.
