Betrayed is a straight edge hardcore band that features two of the modern cornerstones of modern hardcore. Aram Arslanian (vocals), guitarist of CHAMPION and CARRY ON's songwriter Todd Jones on guitar. This band brings so many things to the table that I don't know why they thought they could contain it in an EP. BETRAYED brings out the new school sound but also thrives on what these guys listened to back in the day. Everything from The Cro-Mags and Burn to Youth of Today and Chain of Strength. For a hardcore album, it's far from mundane and expresses many original side steps a long the way. It's full of great sing a longs and mosh parts to keep everyone in the pit happy. It's a great side project and I hope that it turns into something bigger, just as long as it doesn't break up CHAMPION. This probably the best hardcore EP of the year but it is only an EP so it takes away from it's grade.
