Generally, in the Christian music scene, record labels look for bands that they could market as Christian alternatives to mainstream artists. When this is done, the results are rarely admirable, and Building 429 is no exception. Catering to the fans of the all-too-common radio rock genre, Glory Defined is a bland and uninteresting EP that lacks originality and diversity. There is a prevalent influence of Creed and similar sounding bands, which, in case you are wondering, is not a good thing. The album is also way over-produced, as major label releases tend to be. The only positive aspect of the album is the message. The band takes their name from Ephesians 4:29 and through their lyrics, seek to give a message of hope and encouragement to all who listen. Unfortunately, the mediocre music outweighs the uplifting lyrics, making for a boring Christian alternative to a boring mainstream artist.
