Challenger guitarist Dave Laney was seriously injured in a hit-and-run accident recently, while on his bike in Downtown Chicago -- a too-common fate for city bike messengers. Dave sustained serious injury to his shoulder and right arm, as well as a broken collarbone. After surgery and metal-plate installation last week, Dave is recovering at home.
Challenger's debut record release show this month, and all spring tour plans are on hold until Dave fully recovers and gets extensive physical therapy. His PR group told me they saw him earlier this week and 'despite his arm and shoulder being slung in something the size and style of a baby car seat, he is still managing (trying at least) to play guitar -- his desire to get back on the road is clear'.
Challenger's debut GIVE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT IN LETHAL DOSES will be released 2/20 on Jade Tree.
