Chasing Victory is nothing all that special. The first song on this album sounded like a hybrid Lifetime (pre Jade Tree days) song, all the way down the the vocals but then the whole album changed. They are labeled as a band that blends emotional and hardcore music. There is nothing hardcore about this album. Just because someone screams on a few parts of an album with some double bass action in the background doesn't make them hardcore...it makes them like everyone else trying to blend generic "emo" with metal.
Chasing Victory would appease fans of Time Spent Driving, Taking Back Sunday and Further Seems Forever. They probably would make a huge splash with all the trendy fake "emo" kids but not with me. They are okay but nothing that would shake my world.
