Circle One is a DVD shot beautifully on 16mm and 35mm film. It features Quiksilver's team in many exotic locations around the world. Josh Williams produced and directed this film and it features some of the best surfers of this generation.
Quiksilver must be proud to have one of the best, if not the best, surfers to ever ride a wave, Kelly Slater, as a member of their surf team. Kelly Slater is legendary among present surfers and breathtaking to watch. He rides with complete power and no fear. "I'm happy to be alive... Surfing's put me on the map... I'm gonna stick with it forever. Basically it’s given me life, so if it takes me out, it takes me out. That's it."
This is a stunning visual odyssey through some of the deepest and most powerful barrels to ever form out of the ocean. Enormous waves from the Jaws winter session in Feb. 2003 gave me the chills.
The only thing that bothered me about this was the music. It didn't seem to flow well with the footage the whole time. It featured music by Metallica, Radio Zambido, Today is the Day, Mobb Deep, Aphrodite, and others. The instrumental music fit well, but I can't get into Metallica on waves. Other than that, this DVD is flawless and inspiring.
