They’ve given up everything and moved to the other hemisphere for a shot at making this something more than it already is. Adelaide, Australia was the birthplace and Orange County will be the stage for Day of Contempt’s move from obscure support act with a loyal home following to genuine hardcore heroes.
Enough with the patriotic hyperbole.
The boys are good, very good and getting better. They play a blend of hardcore more common to punk ears than metal ears and it’s very melodic, check shattered dreams and broken hearts. Day of Contempt may or not include straight edge dudes, depending on which website rumour you choose to believe, what you cannot question is any of the fringes or Mohawks which are regularly present.
They’ve played a bunch of supports with the heavy as lead Good Charlotte and wuss-rock outfit Underoath and they’re currently on the road with The Used who are totally pioneers of screamo. All of this means you should check out Australia’s finest hardcore outfit, even if only to own a semi-obscure EP.
