It all started in 1994 in southern California and it all has grown into this. Our Darkest Day is unlike any hardcore album you have ever heard and just might be the shot in the arm that the hardcore scene needs. It pushes away all the petty and meaningless issues that engulf the hardcore scene and goes to the throat for what is truly killing us in this world. Ignite has always impressed me with their lyrics and music as well. They could never be described as generic or run of the mill. They have never been mosh friendly. They have never been content with just one style. They have always looked with in the scene but also looked beyond it all into the real world and into ourselves.

Our Darkest Days is just the summation of twelve years and countless shows around the world. It's perfect in every aspect. The production quality on this album is better than any of their previous efforts. Lyrically, it has some of the most socially and politically conscious words you will ever hear from a hardcore band. Musically, it's 75% hardcore and 25% hard rock but all heart. Ignite re-recorded their cover of U2's - Sunday Blood Sunday and it still remains as one of my favorite covers of all time. I love this band. I love this album.
