Starflyer 59's ninth full-length album is finished. Mixed by producer Ken Andrews (Blinker the Star, Tenacious D), the album's title is still up in the air. We do know however, that a release date has been set for March of 2005. And we also know that it's gonna be friggin' amazing and rock the very foundations of the world as we know it. A sample mp3 will be posted on the band's website (www.sf59.com) in the coming weeks.
Now if you're at all like me, then March of 2005 is simply too long to wait for a fresh fix of Starflyer 59. Thankfully, the thoughtful indie rockers have found it in their hearts to release a limited edition EP to tide us over until that glorious month. It's titled "The Last Laurel" and copies will begin shipping out on November 1st. Ahh, that's much better. It will contain five songs--one rough cut of an actual album track, and four other tunes that didn't quite make it on the record for whatever reason. You can preorder your copy off the band's website today, or just buy it when you see them on tour with Pedro the Lion next month. Here come the dates...
