So just when you were getting a little tired of Bleed American and began wondering when a new Jimmy Eat World album would be coming out, along comes Number One Fan, proudly wearing their emo-rock influence on their Polo shirt sleeves. Complete with vocal harmonies, melodic guitar lines, and lyrics straight out of a diary, this band truly is the epitome of emo. The songs are catchy, well written, and sound very similar to bands like Holland. The lyrics are decent, although some of the topics addressed and figurative language used are somewhat cliché. The music is interesting and enjoyable, but it can get old after repeated listens. Essentially, this is not one of those timeless albums that you will pull out years from now and still enjoy, but if you can't wait for the new Jimmy Eat World album, Compromises should hold you over until it's released.
