On The Might of Princes disbands
by Phil_Nichols; 05.28.04

From Revelation Records:

On the Might of Princes has disbanded. The band was around since 1998. Starting off as a small local band in Lou's basement, I don't think anyone had idea this band would have gone on to do the things they ended up achieving. With one line up change, the band stayed with a stable lineup for about five years. We have certainly had some of the most intense experiences of our lives through the band. We wrote the most intense, passionate and sincere music that we could. We poured our hearts and souls into this band. Quitting job after job, to record, get in a van or plane to tour and barely make any money. Popularity , fame and buzz was always secondary to us. Our main inspiration was always filled by our passion. Naturally, we wanted to share our passion with the public. We put out three full length records, a demo and a bunch of songs on comps.

We completed eight tours that included nine countries along with several festivals around the world and of course countless weekend road trips and thousands of local shows. Through this, we met the most amazing people - some of which have become life long friends. We were also exposed to some amazing bands, labels, zines, politics, places, etc. There's no doubt that our music changed our lives and touched other people's lives. We owe it to the kids that sang along, sported our merch, got tattoos of our band, traveled to see us, promoted us, sheltered us, fed us and especially those who took the time to talk to us and become friends with us. You are always going to be part of our lives cause of how you changed our lives.

Thank you for that. I apologize to all of you that might be dissapointed by this news. Our goals and ideas as individuals ha ve changed and we want to move on to other things. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.

“You'll always have a friend in me”
