The Letters Organize play fun and energetic hardcore fused punk, along with some chaos and some good old fashioned rock n roll mixed in. With enough sung and spoken parts, great screams, The Letters Organize know how to rock. Dead Rhythm Machine is their first release since being signed to Nitro Records.
While The Letters Organize seem at first to lack melody in their songs, they make up for it with the total chaos and high energy. The album has a very hurried feel, with only one song longer than three minutes--but it all still works well. The vocalist’s cleanly sung parts sound like the vocals from Billy Talent, while the screams sound atypical and great. The first track, “Dressed Up in Gatwick” sets the tone for the entire album and is a great tester for whether you’ll like the album.
The major downside to the album is the age old question of quality vs. quantity. Even if you really love the music, Dead Rhythm Machine is a very short release that is over very soon after it starts. Overall, if you’re a fan of punk and hardcore fusion bands like Refused or The Blood Brothers, this is a great release for you.
