Well, I didn’t quite know what to think going in to this night, because I had really hoped to see Further Seems Forever play again because all the shows that I have seen of theirs have been amazing and now they were gone. But all hope is not lost. I still had an astonishing night of music that awaited me.
Emery took the stage first, and I didn’t really know what to expect because I hadn’t heard that much of them. I came out impressed with the energy that they possessed. Their set was full of uninhibited enjoyment and oomph. I especially enjoyed the likings of Josh Head’s (Keyboardist) dance moves.

The stage was then graced with the presence of California rockers Watashi Wa. The only thing that I had heard from them was at a youth conference about 2 or 3 years ago where they were playing some of their songs. Needless to say, they brought a set full of tranquility where you could envision yourself driving to their CD on a beautiful summer day. They also played a cover of The Police’s “Message in a Bottle”, which proved to be an enjoyable experience.

Dayton, Ohio natives Dead Poetic dropped in to do the two Ohio shows of the tour. I had heard a little of their music and I didn’t really know what to think because I didn’t really like the recording too much. I will say that I was pleased with the material that I heard that is on their upcoming CD. I went in not really knowing what to anticipate and now I will say that I am excited to hear their upcoming sophomore release.

Anberlin was up next, and I had heard more of their music than the previous bands. Like it is when I see most bands for the first time, I was interested to see what the differences would be in the CD, and the live show. The energy was heightened again with Anberlin as they gave us a tasting of a few new songs that will be on their CD that will be released in the fall. Anberlin also took time to cover The Cure’s “Lovesong”, which was done in great fashion. Overall I will have to say that I enjoyed the presence of Anberlin’s live show.
Last but certainly not least was one of my favorite bands, mewithoutYou. This show proved to be a turning point for myself, because I have never had the chance to see this band in a club setting. Needless to say, my breath was taken away, like always, while watching this band pour out their heart and soul through their music. I still can’t get over the styling of Aaron Weiss’ lyrics and how he and the band make what I call poetry in to such extravagant songs. Don’t be worried about their next release not measuring up to [A-->B] Life, because if the live versions of the new songs show a hint of what the studio versions will offer, we will be in the presence of a great record. Needless to say, I was not disappointed in the least with mewithoutYou’s performance in the club setting.
